Governors
Governors work closely with the headteacher, school staff and representatives from the local authority (LA).
The Governing Body has three main roles:
- To provide a strategic overview that ensures the pupils learn most effectively and achieve the highest standards.
- To act as a “critical friend” of the school by providing the headteacher and staff with support, advice and information.
- To ensure accountability. We are accountable to parents, pupils, the community, the Local Authority and Ofsted. The governors monitor and evaluate the school’s effectiveness and promote the interests of the school and pupils.

Governors play a pivotal role in the development of our school. Their presence is always welcome and we encourage regular visits to our school. Governors carry out regular, planned monitoring visits. Reports are written and fed back to the full governing body during termly meetings. These reports inform school self evaluation.
Our school is a member of the Limestone Learning Federation. Our partner in this federation is Ludworth Primary School. The Governing Body is responsible for both schools in the federation.
