Two of our Ambassadors for Community Change have joined pupils from other local schools on a tour of the BBC Newcastle studios. Lewis B and Lacey-Mae W learned about the history of the BBC in the North-East (including Ant and Dec's big break on Byker Grove - remember that!). They also saw the special recording booth for weather transmissions, the BBC Radio Newcastle studios and even got to sit on the actual BBC Look North sofa. The children recorded their own radio drama (complete with sound effects (ironing board for a gate was Lacey's). The highlight was recording a TV news bulletin.
This is the latest visit for our Ambassadors for Community Change who have visited the Houses of Parliament, a Durham County Council session, the University of Durham debating chamber and even featured on BBC Look North within the last 12 months.
