In science, we have been learning about our health and hygiene. We used glitter to represent germs in an experiment to see how to best clean our hands. We found that wiping them with a paper towel or washing them with cold water wasn’t enough. Hot soapy water was the winning option and washed away all of the germs.
Map Reading
In geography, we have been practising our map reading skills by going on a treasure hunt! Items were hidden and marked on our maps. We had to look carefully to find where we were at the beginning and then we had to read the maps and follow them in order to find the items.
Yoga
These photographs show Class 2 taking part in yoga lessons in the Autumn term.
Saying goodbye to Y6
To say goodbye to Y6 and wish them luck in their new schools, we made cards with special messages.
Spring 2020: Visit to park
As a special treat, we went to the park and had great fun playing together….
Portraits
As part of a topic about the local artist Norman Cornish we had a go at drawing self-portraits ourselves. The results were really impressive….
Nativity Performance 2019
Our EYFS and Key Stage 1 children were amazing during our Nativity Performance this year. They all sang beautifully and acted out their parts with great confidence. The narrators did a great job of telling us the story and spoke with lovely, clear voices. Well done everybody and thanks to our families for coming to watch us.
The Great Fire of London
We really enjoyed learning about The Great Fire of London in the Autumn term and did some fabulous work: designing and making fire engines; finding out about the Fire from information texts; and, constructing our own Tudor Houses to make a street scene in London at the time of the Fire. In Science, we tested a variety of materials to see which were waterproof and could be used to make a boat to escape the Great Fire of London.
Remembrance Day 2019
Class 2 were very lucky to be invited to the Council Offices to see the War Memorial and pay our respects to the brave people who defended our freedom.
