At Ferryhill Station Primary School, we pride ourselves on delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that engages the children in our school. As part of our music curriculum, where possible, we have employed a specialist teacher to deliver these lessons.
In previous years (pre-Covid), the focus instrument has been the cornet, however in these lessons the children also practised singing and writing using musical notations. The children have also performed at the Christmas Carol Service.
Currently we follow a progressive scheme of work called Charanga, which is delivered in all classes, where there is a focus on one song per unit.
